Kona, Hawai'i, 1983. A woman named Christal Nylin experimented with clothing design by sewing pads into running shorts. She observed that multisport athletes were using the transition areas in local races to change their entire outfit. She thought there had to be a better way.
The padded shorts led to one-piece suits, padded briefs, aerodynamic jeresys, and even the first triathlon specific footwear range. Zoot prides itself on taking the needs of athletes into consideration and implementing those needs into their product design.
